It's an Ethiopian proverb.
The lion is YOU and me. But most of the time we do not live up to our potential. Why?
Because we are held back, by our prejudices, and little phrases like: "I can't do that, never could" or "They'll just laugh at me".
It may seem that each one of those little phrases is small and insignificant. Not unlike a strand of a spider web. But while each of these beliefs might be weak, they work together. The effect is that, together, they have the force to hold in check the awesome power it is said each of us have.

Sue, you are an idiot. This saying is obviously about tyranny and the unification of the people to combat it. Did you just make that up to get attention? Did you do any research at all, or did you just guess, and then post with no regard for the fact that YOU OBVIOUSLY DIDN T KNOW WHAT THE **** YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT?!?! People like you are why we can t have nice things, and ultimately why we spiders will never succeed in tying down the lion.

I think this may be intended to be a bit philosophical.
To do with lots of ordinary people getting together to overcome a tyrant.
Co-operation is the key

Hi. Of course, if you get the spiders to cooperate. Their silk is stronger than steel, weight for weight.
