My face is so hard to care for. If I put on lotion, it gets oily and gets pimples. If I don't put on lotion, it gets flaky and dry. What lotion can I use that will work?

Instead of looking for a lotion - try to find a more gentle face cleanser or use your current cleanser at night & a more gentle one in the morning.
Some cleansers to consider:
Dove for sensitive skin - good for combination/slightly dry skin
Cetaphil - face wash comes in 2 formulas
Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads - textured side provides extra exfoliation, rinses off completely, good for sensitive, combination skin

I used to get dry skin on my face, but like you I could not use lotion. I use Dial soap; I found out(from my mom) that the soap I was using was drying out the skin on my face. I suggest you use a facial scrub that is made for dry skin(or for oily depending on which is natural for you). Hope this helps!

It's difficult to say but if you are using lotion that isn't formulated for the face, that could be the bulk of your problem. I suggest trying something lighter like grape seed oil or even a dab of jojoba oil. It sounds like your porse are getting clogged by the lotion. If it is scented, that will make your skin worse.

I suffer with the same thing lol and I know how much it sucks.
So I use clean and clear advantage daily acne lotion. It helps to take away acne while moisturizing. It is not overly moisturizing and is oil free so it works great for my acne and skin.

I LOVE neutrogena. Their moisturizer with SPF is really good and so is the sensitive formula. They wont make you breakout and your skin wont get flaky and dry. Your moisturizer is probably just wrong for your skin.
