Your 24 week checkup will be just like all the rest you've had up to this point. Measurements, blood pressure, listening to baby's heartbeat, checking urine for protein, etc.

The glucose test is generally done at the 28 week checkup. Being hypoglycemic won't affect the results, the amount of glucose they give you would easily correct any mild hypoglycemia (all hypoglycemia is mild if you're still walking and talking) and would not interfere with the results of the test.

I had my 24 week last week and all they did was listen to the heartbeat and measure my belly. You will know if you are going to get the GD test (gestational diabetes). The doctor will let you know "hey at next appt we are doing this and this is what you need to do" They will advise you not to eat anything and if you do nothing that has sugar b/c that can make the test wrong. Usually they won't do the test until you are closer to 28 weeks so more than likely next appt after this one. Good Luck!
Advice when going to do the test: Schedule the appt super early and only drink water and if you have to eat something...a few saltine crackers.

You can expect them to measure your tummy, urine test and the normal stuff.

The glucose test is a test where you drink a cup of really sweet chalky stuff and then they test your blood.

Not sure if the hypoglycemia will effect the test...just let them know you have it.

Good luck! I can never seem to hold the stuff down lol.

It won't be different than any of your others. They will measure you, do blood pressure, use the dopplar to hear fetal heartbeat and then check your urine and ask you questions and see if you have any concerns.

If I remember correctly the gestational diabetes test is done later, like 28-30 weeks.
