People have a right to their opinions, but other than doing the "thumbs down" in some of those silly avatar games, it really isn't cool at all to give friends the "thumbs down".

True Phriends would never. You've been here a bit longer than I have and know that for some reason things here tend to go in cycles. At least we haven't seen any of the "Make money on the web. This site is for real." people. Got tired of seeing that 20 - 40 times a day and the thumb downers are worse.
To rephrase what Justbnme said, "With friends like that who needs enemas?"

Real friends do not hurt another friend, but you never know on here who your real friends are. I see no reason to thumb anyone down unless the answer is full of profanity aimed at one of my real friends on here. I got a violation notice last Friday because I answered a question with well, well are we having fun yet, and Yahoo violated me again, just because someone thumbed me down. I do not know why people do this but all I can say is I hope it stops. It seems like ever since school has been out, we have had nothing but problems on here, when before, very little of this bad stuff existed.

Well, after answering Naka's question regarding this same topic I think I will throw in my two cents here as well. I know I haven't been here as long as many of your friends, but I tend to be a pretty perceptive person. I think people are just jealous. You, Naka, and some of the other "regulars" here are well liked and have a lot of fans. Some people get nasty over stuff like that ... or get pissed if their answer isn't chosen best answer.
It's happened to me already. I won't let it get me upset though ... I take it as a compliment that they got riled up enough to react. =) I only thumbs down mean, nasty, vile and/or racial answers. It's too bad others are using it as a "revenge" mechanism. As long as giving a thumbs down is an option then these types of people are going to do it out of spite or immaturity. I am glad you put this question out here though ... perhaps it will make a few more people think before they just hit the button.

The "thumbs down" I lob are more than justified in cases of extreme rudeness, abject stupidity, or answers whose sole intent is to bait specific undeserving individuals and/or groups. Ergo, my friends' friends are generally not those "thumbs down" recipients anyway.
What about "thumbs up?" Like some of my anonymous friends and I say...
"One is too many and a thousand is never enough." ;oD

I deleted an answer of mine because of the "thumbs down". Was having a bad day & it hurt me. Never know who did it, don't care now. But I am a "thumbs up" kind of girl !! :-)

RIGHT! I give all of my friends thumbs up. Little trolling bastards need to find something esle to do with their time rather than trying to ruin the fun for the rest of us.
