Well, here's the problem.

I've always wanted to get a fish, because they're cheaper, and I live in a poor but loved family. My dad said that we'll get a pet fish soon, but the problem is, I don't know what kind of fish is kind, and the sorta hyper or lazy type.

I suggest a Betta Fish, they are easy to care for, you can put him in a 2 gallon bowl with some gravel and a ornament and he is perfectly fine! No filter or anything like that is necessary. All of this can cost around $20 to $30 dollars. Betta's a also beautiful and can live in a bowl and will do great!

Hope this Helps!

If you don't have $50 dollars to spend to get your fish and set up all the necessary equipment, fish aren't for you. Goldfish get about 2 feet long and require massive tanks (they will die very young in a bowl). Most fish require a heater and a tank of a reasonable size. Your best option would be to get a 2 gallon tank with a heater and filter (about $20 at Walmart) and get a Betta. They are very colorful, and when kept in heated tanks, very active as well. Email me if you have any questions.

I have platy fish... aka Mickey Mouse fish. They are very easy to take care of. A freshwater tank... All they need is some food every day. They get along with each other (and other fish) very well.

In my opinion if you can afford at least a 2ft or 3 ft tank, I would recommend you to keep Oscars as they are easy to take care, hardy (Not easy to contract diseases) and they are one of the most responsive fishes to their owners available..

Betta is nice but its just too tiny for viewing..

Gold Fish aren't easy fishes to keep for beginners, they are prone to parasites and diseases..
