Because he is both Phony and Unbelievable. Sort of reminds me of Hillary, Giuliani, and Mitt Romney.
How is it that the phoniest candidates now running, are also the front runners of both parties? Is giving a speech and buying TV time the only requirements to run this country?
Well, guess this response gets thumbed down by both political party types. That is truly a compliment. Thanks guys and ladies.

IT'S NOT JUST YOU!!! He is phony and unbelievable every time you see him on t.v. Any perceptive person can see that. And, perceptive people pick up on verbal and visual cues that tell them that this person is very untrustworthy. Most people in the world see Bush in the same way you do. Bush and Cheney send out all kinds of visual cues that really reveals what they are saying is anything but the truth. Look at Cheney. His eyes either never blink when looking at the interviewer or he never looks up at the viewer when he talked about Iraq and WMD's and intelligence reports. He never talked like a normal person when interviewed, it was always framed in such a way that authority driven not factual driven. Bush sounds like he just memorized everything someone else told him. It's in someone else's language so he has a very difficult time of saying it. In the very rare moment of impromptu interview he is forced to discuss matters in his own language or in his own way of natural speaking. Then he comes across as flippant, joking or repeats the obvious and says nothing. Or, he stammers and tries to remember the last speech he gave with someone elses words. It's all so obvious.

I may disagree with many of the President's views, and can find fault in things he's done, which I'm sure he could have done totally different. But Phony he doesn't look. At least not to me.
Not only does he look sincere, but I'm inclined to think he still believes as true whatever the world or time has proven to be different. I guess this is just his nature.
What you may perceive as phony or insincere is the repetitiveness of his explanations.

I remember him being rather sharp and articulate when running in 99. In the pre 9/11 days he played a different role than he has to now. As long as he appears too ignorant to perform anything complicated, nobody will beleive he had anything to do with 9/11. To those he really represents, he has performed flawlessly.

Body language is easily determined by perceptive people. Count yourself as one of them! I know exactly what you mean and, even if I admired the man (which I don't), I could not help but see the "acting" every time he opens his mouth. He is no master of deceit...he is too obvious.......once again, I compliment Romare. Excellent answer! Too bad it's toward the end where less will see it.

As little as I like the President, there aren't a lot of politicians these days who appear on tv that don't look that way...

Because he IS phony and unbelievable! The man has no clue what he's saying. He's just reading what someone else wrote for him.

Because he has no credibility. There are just so many lies! Time after time he says something today which is completely opposite to what he said before.
