If I put a male and a female goldfish in the same fish bowl, will they end up having babies?

No you will end up with two dead golfish. Goldfish bowls are unsuitable for any living creature and two in a bowl is pretty much a deatn sentance. For breeding two goldfish a 50 gallon tank for common goldfish or 30 for fancy. Goldfish breeding is a difficult buisness you have to wait for the golfish to spawn and then wait for the eggs to hatch then move the babies into a sperate tank and try to keep them alive.
p.s. goldfish babies are called fry.

no, because they're not able to spawn in there
and a bowl is the absolutely wrong place for even 1 goldfish

Yes, and they have TONS of babies so that is trouble because the bowl might not be big enough. ITs not a problem if its really big. (You could sell the babies to a petsotre though) If its guppies they have 1,000,002 so that is trouble. But all fish have lots of babies.
