Thank you for your time and please dont report how people respond to this question as everyone has an oppinion.

I worded my q the way i did because in my last q when i said, Why cant a women be president? i got bashed on ,and honestly it was amusing because i never said that a woman could not be president, Many women assume too much and that is not a good trait for a president to have, But many men have too much to prove and that is also not a good trait for a president to have. And to java, i get better answers when i seem like im trying to provoke them because then people dont respond poorly because they think im trying to get a rise out of them.

They most certainly CAN, but it all depends on whether society will allow it or not.

They can. Women are not a weaker version then men. It's not fair to say things like that because other countries have had women in roles of leadership, and they have done wonderful things. Leadership doesn't even have to be a physical thing, which is where a lot of arguement between the stronger gender comes into. Women can get into Harvard and Yale and top colleges all over the world. There are women in politics and getting involved in world issues. We have women on the Supreme Court. Women can be leaders because they are just as smart as men, sometimes even more so. I think there should be more equality in the political workspace.

That statement is wrong. We have 90 women in Congress, one of whom is two heartbeats away from the Presidency. There have been women heads of state around the world for decades - it is us who is catching up to them where this is concerned. These women have already proven they can be just as effective at leadership as men are. One of the main arguments, weak as it is, to our not having a woman President is that the Middle East won't respect us. Now THAT is ignorant thinking. They've been dealing with other women leaders for many years. They routinely accept authority from Condoleeza Rice and they aren't so stupid that they would show a female President of the United States any sort of disrespect. People who say that are reaching, to put it nicely.

Of course women can be great presidents or leaders. There have been many examples in the rest of the world. Indira Gandhi and Golda Meier come immediately to mind though there are many more. It is only the United States and Religion that have kept women down.

You're wrong because there are examples of women as leaders of nations, Golda Meir, Margaret Thatcher and Indira Gandhi to name but three. While you may disagree with their legacies, you cannot say that they were failures as leaders. And it would also be unfair for you to say that simply because a few women have succeeded as leaders does not mean that women as a whole are capable of leading. The reason there have been so few women in positions of power is not due to women being unfit to lead, it is due to women not having the same level of opportunity to lead. When given the chance, women have shown to be as good or bad as men at the job.

hmm i think men that don't belive that women can be presidents are pigs..ya we may have more feelings.. but they help us make better decisions. For one we think about how things effect people more, and i think that women can do just as good or better then male presidents, take into mind that the first laddies in alot of stories of past presidents have had a major role in the decisions and the impact of the world today, some first ladies have even done work for there husbands. People sometimes forget that. but most of all women can do anything a man can do,and sometimes better =]

Your quote is wrong, women are humans, and to be a leader of humans requires that you only lead them. There is no quality that a man possesses that differs from a woman except genitalia, and genitalia plays no role in being a leader.

You are wrong because that is a ridiculous assumption. There have been very many successful women leaders throughout history. This question, regardless of how provacative you tried to be, is stupid.

Since women can be President, I fail to see the point of your question.

Wrong, obviously, as women - from Cleopatra to Maggie Thatcher - have been strong leaders in the past.
