Didn't work for me either, I wouldn't try delete though that might be a bit final. You could always log off for a while you wouldn't actually be escaping though just having a break!

try pressing the help key.

try ctrl+alt+del, or alt+f4 if that doesn't work...
try window key(bet. the alt and fn) then press letter u and enter... "katccchhhhing" see your shuting down now...
