He will be the starter in game one, with an offense based on Lewis running the ball and short, possession passes. Frye and Anderson are jokes.

Look, I was there, and I am a huge Notre Dame/Quinn fan, but.......................

It was the third string D. True, he also had 3rd string players on his side, But we need to see if they will let him start with the #1 offense in preseason game 4, and see how he directs it. Even with his brains and talent, it will take a while to build chemistry with his receivers, so lets no trush it.

Historically speaking one of the worst things you can do is rush the development of a Passer, it tends to screw up their progress. Even Leinart and Cutler got a while on the bench before bewing thrown to the wolves. Look what sitting did for Palmer. Also look how inconsistent Big Ben has been. (and it was not just last season, if you watch his first two, he had plenty of bad palys to go with his good ones, he just had a solid team to overcome his mistakes.) In the short term rushing him in may help you turn your record around, but if he gets at least 4-6 games to sit and learn, he will help the Browns to turn around for the long haul.

That being said, I will have a hard time being patient, as I think he is a tremendous QB (I think most people just hate him cause the guy is big, strong, good-looking and easy going. It's called jealousy. Oh, and Notre Dame is either a love em or Hate em school.) with lots of potential. Weis is not known for building people up, or coddling them, so If the guy who molded Tom Brady says the potential is there, I believe him. I also don't think he would recommend Quinn to his very good friend Crennel,(who might well be fighting for his job), if he did not have what it takes.

That said, I think all of us are overrating the yards, and TDs and missing the important thing. His decision making and poise. Unlike the other QBs, he never got flustered (even on the two passes he made in the middle of being tackled), he showed great poise and awareness of the field ( he only missed one open receiver in his progressions, but still found a checkdown receiver, and moved the chains), and he made 0 mental errors.

Quinn, barring massive injury or a complete mental meltdown, is the QB of tomorrow, and while I want him to play today, lets not rush things, and trust in Crennel and Savage to know what they are doing. Quinn does.

Yeah, he's something new and snazzy to put on the field. Anderson and Frye aren't going to do much more than throw interceptions and fumble the ball all-day. Quinn looked pretty good in the preseason, and should do well in the regular season. Overall, he should start in the middle of the year. Let him get a bit more used to NFL before going in there. He could get injured.

yes and he will start. I think all the coaches are playing it down
Their record shows they need something to happen bad. If they dont start Quinn the Brown fans need to pitch a fit. After all the fans directly or indirectly is where the money comes from

Come on Browns Fans start speaking up about it!!!

Let him start a preseason game and see if he can repeat those stats against a starting defense. He looked great against a bad 3rd string Lions defense.

As for the regular season well give them all a shot in the preseason and pick the best.

No, even though he did very well, he was playing against a second string defense. I think they should definitely let him play and then if he's doing consistently well they can think about starting him later in the year. He still needs to catch up the the pace of the NFL. He has more to learn yet.

Maybe a couple of series each half til the halfway point of the season. You dont wanna get him killed but you want to develop his confidence too. When its all said and done Oakland and Miami will regret passing on him.

If he wins the job, then yes. Ideally, he would have at least one year to sit on the bench and just learn the system, but the Browns have no one worthwhile if they are beaten out by a rookie...

Definitely. He lead the Browns to 20 points in one quarter against the Lions (Even if it was our third string defense).
