Pay no mind to the first answer, hes 100% wrong. Sadly nobody corrected him but instead gave him a thumbs up.

Your limited to PC2700 or PC3200 RAM and the max you can install is 2GB.

You also mentioned upgrading the graphic card, Your very limited in this area as well as that PC is a entry level. Your ONLY option is a PCI interface. IMO its not worth it as not even the best PCI card available will allow you to play any recent game at a respectable frame rate, not even on all low settings.

well i also have a dell 2400 and i have upgraded my computer, if you want a decent graphics card, you have to get a PCI now a PCI-e which is a pain, but i have this which works great.

Nvidia geforce Fx5200 256mb

Im not sure about your but my pc only hols 1gb ram so i have 2x512mb sticks of pc2700 and allows me the run everything smoothly now so ye, and also all this cost me less then £50.

all u need to know is that the dell dimension 2400 is a ddr2 and any thing that says ddr2 will be compatable to your comp as long as the u havent changed the motherboard. so any ddr2 part will work with system ram/and other things like sound and graphics card so go for it. cus i need a graphics card to lol. im to smart not to be a nerd but yea that card your buying should work

That PC2 5300 won't work. If this is your PC:
http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/dell-dimension-2400-pentium/4507-3118_7-30824846.html?tag=sub
It says you've got 512Mb ddr 333 or PC 2700 in there (184 pin module).

Crucial recommends these:

PC 3200 modules would also work there.
