Leave the water over night, allow the Chlororamine/Chlorine to evaporate, add some black water or Indian almond leave or stress guard/water conditioner, that should help to condition the water..

There's really 2 options you can invest in either a product called a Nitrogon, which is a tube with resin in you attach to a hose then slowly trickle water through this removes a good proportion of the salts/calcium that causes the hardness, or set up a R.O. system (reverse osmosis filter) this attach's to a spare tap and water is forced through a membrane removing 99pct of minerals in the water, water that cannot pass through the membrane about 80/90 pct goes down a drain and the remainder you store till needed. Of course most independent fish shops will have this water and will happily sell it to you, you should then use a 75/25 pct mix of R.O. water and tap water to introduce some minerals back in to buffer the water.

The cheapest way is to buy one of the filters that go on your faucets in the kitchen. If you are only worried about the water for you fish, you might be better off just to buy some bulk water in the big bottles when you change it's water.

To make water softer you can put peat fiber in the filter.
But if your angel fish are fine I dont see the point unless your water is above 16 dH.

The only ways I know of lowering the hardness of water is to either boil the water before putting it in, or using distilled water when you do a water change. Though both methods are a bit of a pain if you have a larger tank.
