She can use a debit card from your own bank in the USA. It can even be a second card to an account your parents have. (An account specially for this would be great.) That way she can withdraw money from the account and your parents can put the money in when they see it is needed. Talk with the people at your local bank office about this, as sometimes they block accounts if something suspicious happens and only withdrawals from Spain may trigger the system.

Or she can open an account in Spain, and you have to send the money over from your own bank, which might cost a lot each time.

If you can not get it sorted before she leaves, ask the bank if it is OK to send the card to her when she is there.

Ask what each withdrawal will cost, and if it is more than token money, ask if they have a card with which you can get it for cheaper. Often the card itself will cost a little more.

Most used cards/systems in Europe are MasterCard and Visa, so try to get a card on those systems.

Good luck, I hope she will enjoy her time in Europe.
