I'm not a big make-up fanatic, but I wanted to try using mascara. I know the basics, but I read online that eye shadow must be applied first before putting on mascara. I thought I would just give up on wearing any make-up all together cause it seems so complicated and so many things are involved. Do I really need the eye shadow? I'd rather spend my money on something else.

no you don't have to. it's just a suggestion. u can just wear mascara without eye shadow. make up is part of personal expression of who you are, but it doesn't define urself. just keep that in mind, n have fun experimenting :)

They just meant that if you do wear eye shadow, apply it first, then put on mascara. But you don't need eyeshadow to use mascara. I usually wear both, but if I'm running late for something and feel like I should wear makeup, I just wear mascara and nothing else. Although eye shadow is pretty easy to put on and it looks good on (unless you get too much or a weird color) so you could try it. Just go for kind of skin color/brown shades or maybe pink. But you don't need to use it if you don 't want to. You can just stick to mascara. Hope this helps!

The online advice does not mean you have to wear shadow with mascara - just that it goes on first if you do.
Mascara by itself is fine.
If and when you do want to try more make-up ask for tips at a
cosmetic counter. The people are usually very helpful and will often give free samples for you to try before you buy,

It does not mean you have to wear eye shadow it means if you are wearing eye shadow you want to put it on before you put on mascara.

I don't wear any eyeshadow, and your eyes look just as great without it. If you want to make your eyelashes seem thicker though, you could just line your top and bottom eye with eyeliner, and then apply mascara. That always works.

when putting on mascara you are sopposed to start from the root of the lash. otherwise the lashes end up sagging because of the weight. i would buy just a cheep eye shadow that looks nice with ur compliction. but if u dont think u will wear it or if u dont wnat it dont waste ur money on it

I think they meant that if you're going to apply eyeshadow that it should come before the mascara. You can apply mascara alone. Have fun!

no you can put on anything you want to. i would just put on mascara and some lipgloss.
