You're so very right, mr. adam...there's no such thing as perfection. For one thing, perfection is seen or defined differently by people; i.e, each individual has his/her unique way of looking at life. In my case, I would say my life is perfect for as long as I have more happy moments than sad ones (thankfully few and far in between), more friends than enemies (thankfully I have none), and more savings than debts (thankfully, hardly any). Life is beautiful, love is grand and God is good. Blessings, dear friend.

Happiness and fulfillment makes life perfect for me.Happiness comes not from great wealth but from few wants.And we must learn to accept what we have to feel fulfilled.To paraphrase the prayer, "Lord grant me the strenght to accept the things I cannot change, the will to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference." Peace of mind.
You have peace of mind when you are able to distill what is essential versus the trappings.
You have peace of mind when you have friends to care for, and who care for you, no matter how few they are, and no matter how lowly their station in life might be.
When you have peace of mind, you can afford to laugh and be merry at life's simple joys. Laugh at a little prank pulled by an innocent kid. Laugh at your own mistakes. Laugh even at corny jokes cracked by a friend - - - laughing at the effort the corny joke is told, and laughing without malice. Here the laughter is pure joy.
Life is never perfect, but give me the discernment to achieve peace of mind, and life would be a bliss.

The deep love of a really awesome significant other, who is the perfect fit for me! Enough money to be able to live comfortably--with a modest but comfortable home--and good healthy food to eat; good health, work that is really fulfilling, a few really good friends, and the time to have fun. *sm*

That's non other than to have a family of my own. With my wife and children, I know that they will always be there for me and I am happy to be here just for them.

I change my answer to agree with another poster:
Self acceptance and self love.
Love is great and all that, but you ALWAYS have yourself. Essentially we are born alone, and we will die alone. Therefore, the nearest to perfection we can hope to achieve is to be at one with ourselves.
A lifelong goal, to be sure.
