But ask yourself. Generally and statistically who pulls the triggers of these guns and kills people?

Alot of people have guns for protection or legal hunting and use it for just that and then certain types of people have guns that they use to shoot at people and to kill people.

We are not lax on gun control. There are set guidelines on who can buy a gun. The FBI does background checks on all people who buy them from licensed dealers. It is in the Constitution that we have the right to keep and bear arms.

Keep in mind to that most people who are against guns live in cities where police response time is usually less than five minutes. Out in the rural parts of the country it is a lot different. In my county if you call 911 and say someone just kick down your front door you have between 45 min to 1 1/2 hour before help will arrive. For we only have eight police cars, and only two deputies on patrol at once. My county is three time the size in area of New York City. If you do not have a gun, well you just have to do hand to hand combat and hope for the best.

Most of the United States is not very lax on gun control unfortunately. We need to get rid of most of the laws we have on guns and allow more people to get concealed carry permits.

Why are so many people against gun control in the United States? The reason is because gun control has been shown to be a failure again and again by empirical academic studies. Gun control generally leads to higher homicide, violent crime and robbery rates. In places where people are allowed to carry guns, crime goes way, way down.

Here are a few statistics for you.

Check the links in the source list.

The reason America has lax gun control laws, is because the Citizens of our country aren't mindless drones. Every American should own a gun to defend themselves from enemies inside and outside the United States. If you knew everybody carried a gun you'd be less likely to attempt a robbery. Not to mention if another country attacks the U.S. even if they get past our army, they still haven't won. As long as countries are armed, their people also need to be armed.

Prevention of what? Criminals will follow rules? I don't think so. Gun control in some form is okay. Register them, background checks, child locks etc. That is about as far as I will go. Although I wouldn't really care if they outlawed any assault weapons except for the military and the police.

You need to spend a few months living in Kanaduh . in one of our major cities ! Kanaduh has been on the "prevention" kick for years now ! You can`t get a handgun permit here without first going through HELL . And if you do , you cannot take it outside of your house unless going to a gun range .

Crime has escalated here by leaps and bounds with "prevention" instead of "punishment and incarceration" .AND ................. guess who has 90 % of the illegal guns ? ........... that`s right ..... the CRIMINALS !

At least Americans are allowed to protect themselves ............ Kanadians are NOT ! If you don`t like guns , don`t buy one . Leave yourself at the mercy of the first psycho murderer that comes to rob you !

But don`t tell others they shouldn`t have the means for self defence unless you want to end up like Kanaduh !

What makes you think that someone who breaks the law. Whether is murder or theft or whatever. Will actually follow the law when it comes to registering Guns?

If you are not a felon and you wish to have a gun to defend yourself. Why not be able to have it?

Gun control is not a solution to criminals committing crimes they will find a way to commit them. Japan and England have strict gun laws and they still have problems.

Its for citizens to protect itself against an unfair govt--its called the 2nd amendment, and it was written because the drawers of the Bill of Rights were concerned that various groups (i.e. corporate) would influence politiicans to such a degree that america would become another aristocracy.
So far, so bad..................

America is made up of two kinds of people-- those who value their personal freedoms and those who DONT! When I grew up "freedom" meant freedom from tyranny, not from some country that we decided to obliterate because of some radical group!!

Thank GOD for the NRA!!

If you dont like freedom, than I suggest you support the conservative agenda............ because they dont give a rats *** about anyone earning under a six figure salary........

The genie is out of the bottle. There are already several hundred million guns out there, plus the only people who pay attention to gun control laws are the law abiding citizens, so why leave them defensless against the bad guys?

If you have a plan for instantly guaranteeing that there will be no crime or guaranteeing that armed help can be instantly teleported to my location in a defensive situation, maybe you can make an argument for gun control.

Oh, but you can't. If you could guarantee there would be no crime, it wouldn't matter if I'm armed or not. If you guarantee that armed help can be teleported to me, you acknowledge the validity of bearing arms for defensive purposes.

Stay out of my gun case.

Criminals are cowards ( this has been proven repeatedly over the years)

They will go for the easiest target, everytime. That is why they are criminals they don't want to actually do anything for a living.

Having a gun is prevention. A criminal will ALWAYS choose the house with the known anti gun lobbyist over the NRA member.
