I know last year they got by without him but Ronaldo had an exceptional year scoring more goals than some strikers, but I still don't understand why he let RVN go. Next to Henry he was the best striker in the EPL and held up the ball better than most midfielders, did Alex really let him go because of the fall out between him and Ronaldo ? if he did, What a bad mistake that was , he'll never be replaced.

I'm a fan of Ruud and also a fan of Manchester United. But I don't think Air Alex has any regrets letting Ruud go. I think he felt that was the right thing to do. When he had to choose between Ruud and Cristiano, he chose to let Ruud go. In spite of the lack of a pure striker in the United club, I don't think Sir Alex is looking back in the past and wishing that Ruud was still playing for his club.

Here's an article where Sir Alex was interviewed about his decision to let players like Roy Keane and RVN go. This is what he said: "Well, Roy was, certainly, because he was such an influence at the club . . . (long pause). I'm not so sure about Van Nistelrooy being a big decision at all."

On the other hand, I'm really glad that Ruud did really well with Real Madrid during his first year there and that he had the chance to spend a season with Beckham again.

Go United! Go Real! Go Ruud!

They wont regret it although he is a fantastic striker, they have just had an awful lot of bad luck with the strikers they have got now Rooney injured for the second time ronaldo Suspended Saha always out and Solskjear never anything but injured, and Tevez hasnt been performing.
It took ages to find a good replacement for Shmeical in goal but they did it eventually.

Big time! Saha - useless - terrible first touch, a ditherer in front of goal, not worthy to be mentioned in the same breath as the ruthless clinical finisher RvN. Solksjaer - christ how old is he now?! SAF has bought very unwisely. They didn't need a Rooney mark 2 (i.e. Tevez) they needed a world class out and out striker - e.g. an Henry, Berbatov, Torres, et al. They didn't - they can kiss goodbye to any ambitions for the CL for another year, and the EPL too.

there is no way that he will regret letting him go, RVN was a good player, one of the best bout i think he felt he had to let him go to make room for some of the young player RVN had only bout a few more years felt and wanted to experince something other than the EPL. Just think about it will any of these young kids want to fill in the shoe of the great EPL player, i for sure dont think so, Man Utd have created some great upset and they are not about to start messing up now, GLORY, GLORY, MAN UTD

I think if a player wants to leave they can't really stop him, because then the players heart wont be with the club. So it really wasn't letting him leave, I think they had no choice.

The question I think your asking is Will Man Utd miss rvn, I think they wont, and they didn't last year so, the actual question is will they miss Rooney, I would say they would miss RVN because Rooney is injured. Man utd will miss Rooney but I'm sure by the close of the transfer window Alex Ferguson would have bought a replacement for Rooney, I've heard rumers of Andy Cole since he hasn't got a club but like i say they are rumers.

He left for the same reason as Becks, he and Ferguson weren't getting along and Van Nistelrooy felt he wasn't getting enough playing time for it (it's true). I think Ferguson should've shut his yap because Van Nistelrooy is an amazing striker. He's strong on the ball and does everything right. Look how well he did at Madrid... Pichichi in his first season. 25 goals isn't luck, it's pure talent. RVN is definately one of my favorite if not favorite striker and I'm sure Fergie is missing him with how the season has begun for Manchester United. P.S. What's the difference between Man. U and a triangle? (Everyone should know this by now)

My point would be, take out Ronaldo's goals and Utd still scored more Prem. goals than any other side last season! (Utd scored 83 (Ronny got 17) and Chelsea got 64)
Maybe they missed him a little in Europe, but they suffered more because of the defence.
Ruud was/is a fantastic player, but you can't let afford to let problems fester within the team, especially as it sounded like Ruud wanted to leave.
This seasons problems will soon resolve themselves, whether we get a new striker or not.

without a doubt united could do with van the man at the moment but fergie hasnt got to where he is by letting players walk all over him. weve seen him get rid of stam, beckham, v.nistelroy, even keano, but he does it for the general atmosphere of a club, van nistelroy slagged ronaldo off a few times in the press and the kind of things dont help the club, he was moaning about being on the bench for i think it was cup final . you cant predict what injuries are going to occur in ur team and maybe instead of spending 18 mil. on anderson when he clearly wont be playing this season, we could have brought in a definate goalscorer like berbatov. but like fergie said in this months united mag, anderson would have started upfront regularly for porto this season, more teams would have gone after him and united would have probably lost out.
so i just think united should trust the judgement of fergie, even if sometimes we disagree on some decisions

why r u asking that question now??
u've seen united without ruud.. they're so much better without him. with ruud's presence, they felt like the ball should always go to him. now, the play is wide open to many players in the field, we have more goal scorers and we can see different beautiful goals.
ruud did shine with united. and we couldn't believe that he was out, but as u can see, it was a great decision by sir Alex.
p.s (we don't need to replace ruud, coz we have better than him)

Mixed feelings Bud, he was awesome, but some players call the shots and they will never do that with Alex and we will probably never know the real reason for the fall out.
He will replace him though and he will get things right, i hope the rumours about Berbatov are true!
