Everybody I talked to loved me for the first 90% of our relationship, then I blew it and never got one to sign with our company?

I don't think the Chargers care about regular season whether a coach can go 14-2 like Marty shottmeimer or 16-0 this season under Norv Turner if you don't produce and go deep into the playoff it's a bust season for the Chargers organization. The Chargers owner know this is a Super Bowl material team, if a coach come to this team and don't get to the AFC championship or win the Super Bowl, that coach gonna get fire withing a couples of years into his job. This is a short coaching career job in SD if you don't reach deep into the playoff, because this team is loaded with talents on offense and defense. You got the best offensive player in LT and the best defensive player in Shawn Merriman, i mean the best player in the whole NFL not just their team. Win the Super Bowl or get fire, that's seem to be the Chargers theme of coaching.

To all you Shotty haters, what was the chargers record before he got there? They fired him in Cleveland for the same thing, and how well did they do after they got rid of him? Didn't Turner coach somewhere else before, how well did he do? The fact is if they fired shotty and got a better coach, good for them, but Turner? Wow. Lucky to win 10 games this year, and they are loaded with talent.

Schottenheimer got fired because he couldn't get along with the GM. They were miles apart on where they thought the team was and where it needed to be heading. That being said, if Norv doesn't win a playoff game in the next 2 years I could see him getting the axe no matter what his regular season record is.

It doesn't do much good to go 14-2 every season if you've proven year after year that you can't win in the playoffs.

Marty is a good regular season coach, but check his failures in the playoffs. And did you watch him coach in the playoffs over the last several seasons? I've never seen so much uncertainty in playcalling as with the Chargers. Schottenheimer plays to "not lose" in the playoffs, instead of trying to actually win.

You are so right, he must have thought that they had way more potential, but 14-2 was the best record in the nfl. Nowadays they can get rid of a coach for anything.
