yeah, a great ball of fire...when i was little i saw a ball of fire going through the sky, it wasn't a comet... and to this day, i still don't know what it was.

I've never seen such a grammatical train wreck until this moment. Can you possibly help me understand why, when unversal childhood education is free, such awful grammar exists?
