The Pistons are the team to beat! I'd like to put a silencer on the naysayers and haters and say that YOUR TEAM COULD NEVER BE US SO STOP DREAMING! The Pistons have been super consistent over the years starting in 2003 when they started a run of five straight trips to the Eastern Conference Finals. Won it all in '04, took San Antonio to seven before losing in '05, and nearly pushed Miami and Cleveland to the brink in '06 and '07 (six games for both teams, respectively). That goes to show you that with a team like the Pistons, they're not going to roll over and play dead! You've got to really want it more than we do! The other teams wouldn't have beat us if it weren't for a few games and breaks that didn't go our way! The Horry 3-pointer in Game 5 of the '05 Finals, A healthy Shaq and D-Wade led their charge (Shaq didn't play in Game 7 of the '05 ECF because of a thigh bruise) in '06, and if they hadn't let that damn LeBron James go to the whole at will in Game 5 and score 48 (add to the fact that they won the first two by mediocre scores and cracked over the next four with Rasheed Wallace losing his temper at a critical point of the playoffs), we would've faced (and beat) San Antonio in the finals!
Detroit is here and here to stay! BELIEVE IT!

Everyone knows this? really because i just spoke with a few people that sit around me and they dont so I am not sure how you got to everyone. The Pistons lost to the sorry Cavs last year and the Heat the year before. They also lost in the Finals the year before that. Where are you coming from saying they are the team to beat..maybe for the 4th seed in the east.
I see the Pistons being an average team in the east behind Miami, Boston, Chicago and Clevland again. They are not even on the radar as one of the best teams of all time.

Everyone? Of course not. Name one Western Conference team that has to beat Detroit to get to the NBA Finals. Can't do it? It's because no Western Conference team has to beat Detroit to get to the NBA Finals.
As for the East, that's wide open (yet again), but Detroit is the team currently at the head of the pack. On paper, Boston looks even better, but that's why the games are actually played. Cleveland will have to endure questions about whether or not last season was a fluke, and the only way to silence those critics is to get back to the NBA Finals. Chicago is continuing to improve, and Miami has a healthy D-Wade.
Of course, midseason trades happen every year, so one of those could change the complexion of the entire NBA. Trying to predict those now is nearly impossible, but I can predict that a trade will influence the NBA playoffs (and maybe even determine its winner).

Nope, they were in 2004 but wont be for a long time. The Pistons are an old team and the East is getting better, Boston with KG, pierce, and allen, Bulls with rising stars, Magic with Howard and Lewis, Cleveland which beat them last year, and the teams in the west

The Pistons are my team and I like to think that they are.
They may be the tam to beat in the east after a good draft and their young talent breaking out. The west is still superior and the champ will be from their, but I'll just watch and hope that the pistons can come through

i think the pistons have a really good shot at the title this year , mostly because they had a really good draft. rodney stuckey is going to be a great player, and i imagine aaron afflalo will help as well. not to mention they just picked up jarvis hayes, which can only help them out more. i think they will have a great shot at the title this year....oh yeah and to the first guy who answered this, the pistons beat the bulls in the playoffs , the pistons didnt help the bulls one bit. you apparently dont know whats going on.(to the first guy who answered this)

in the east, yes the pistons. but there are the cavs and heat too. and the magic aint that bad either, but they lost grant hill. so in the east, pistons will always be the best. but altogether, the teeam to beat is the spurs. as wells as the suns and mavericks. the big trio dominate the NBA

out of the east maybe. the piston got beat by the cavs. not a good team without lebron. now you have the magic, celtics, heat, and bulls, who are becoming rising powers in the east. the spurs are the team to beat in the finals this year though.

Maybe in the East, I thought that they should have won the East easy last year. I guess losing Big Ben set them back. They need a decent center to compete with the big dogs in the West, Webber is too inconsistent.
