Are you serious?...Do you know how stupid this idea is? i just got off the phone with a patients insurance company...trying to convince them to pay a 82 year old man's hospital bills. he has suffered multiple third degree burns over half of his body...How did he get burned so badly...the police suspect that it was from the fire in the garage that was mostly started by his idiot 26 year old grandson trying to make crystal meth. He is an innocent victim and is mostly to die from those burns at his age...Do you realize how many people will be effected by that crap being legal...I flinch at the thought of all the medical bills alone.

I think it is a wonderful idea.
As long as the addicts con still contribute to Social Security and Medicare and then kick off before collecting on Medicare then there will be more money left for the rest of us.
Keep on taking that $h*t

I agree with prekinpdx 100%.
We should end this bull sh*t war on drugs and legalize them. It's ridiculous to imprison people for anything related to drugs (unless the person is guilty of involving a minor or someone else who is incapable of making their own sane, rational choices). It wastes space that could be used to imprison people who violate the rights of others. The legalization of drugs would provide a great deal of jail and prison space. Think of all the users and dealers who are taking up space in our jails and prisons.
Let's set up free clinics where addicts could go for a designated number of "hits" and unlimited sterile needles. This would cost much less than what is spent on housing addicts in the jail and prison system and funding the senseless war on drugs. Think of all the money that would be saved by reducing the spread of disease via the use of dirty needles. Another point to consider: Much of the crime (murder, burglary, theft, etc...) is a direct result of drugs being illegal. Many people are murdered when addicts don't have the money to pay dealers. Many addicts resort to stealing in order to fund their habits. The list goes on. By providing addicts with the drugs their bodies require, we would decrease the chances of them creating debts with dealers, and resorting to committing crimes such as those listed above, thereby creating a huge reduction in crime and increased space in the jail and prison system.
And, before someone says something really clever such as, "I don't want a junkie doctor," please reconsider your logic. Alcohol is legal, but employers generally don't allow their employees to perform their duties while intoxicated. Likewise, it's illegal to perform certain duties while intoxicated, just as it's illegal to operate a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
A truly free society would have no place for dubious legal coercion.

My god, have you ever seen a hard core methamphetamine freak? Rotted teeth, skinny, stringy hair, paranoid and a thief. Would you ingest lye or Drano into your body, that's what the meth base is.

i think people who are on meth (such as yourself) are in desperate need of help.
they are endangering neighborhoods and houses around their area - not to mention it makes you look someone beat you up daily.
there is no health or safety benefit to legalizing meth.

I hate meth, it's nasty nasty stuff. But, I think all drugs should be legal. Making it is too dangerous, so that should not be legal. We should save prison for real criminals, not people who do stuff to their own bodies. If they commit any other kind of crime, they should be held accountable, but drug crimes (purchasing, using, etc.) should not be crimes at all.
