Have you checked the water quality recently? This sounds as though there's a buildup of either ammonia or nitrite starting - loss of appetite and lethargy are two of the common symptoms. It may just be time to do a 25% partial water change.

There are some other possible causes I could think of (I'll post a link with details below), but since the fish have acted normally prior to this, I think it would be safe to rule most of those out.

Considering that you got them yesterday, it's all normal. Think about it from their eyes. Your in a brand new enviroment. There are other fish with you. You see a new something outside of tank staring at you. And then they feed you something you've never seen before and you might be afraid to touch it. Also, you're still a little stressed out from the move from one tank to another.- Also, their bellies are probably full. Only when they are used to the new food and are hungry will they swim to the top of the tank for food.

Go to Petsmart or Petco now. You need to medicste your tank ASAP. Pick up Stress Coat and Coppersafe. Dose you tank according to the instructions. You need to do it now and there is still a chance that your fish might die. Everytime you buy fish you should put them in a medicated tank using the stuff above before putting them with your other fish. If your fish do die, medicate any new ones you get. Keep this stuff on hand and read the panthlet that comes with it. You will learn alot.

If you just got him yesterday, that's absolutely normal behavior

it's actually recommended not to feed them for the first 24 hours

some fish need up to 10 day's to get accustomed to their new environment.

Just give him time, but don't overfeed him, twice a day, as much as he will eat in a period of 3-4 min at each feeding

Hope that helps
Good luck

What kind of fish is it? Many fish do this. They are called bottom dwellers or bottom feeders.
