You didn't say if the bleeding was vaginal or if it was coming from the urethra. If it is vaginal, have you been getting regular pelvic exams and pap smears? Was your hysterectomy "a total" where uterus, cervix, tubes and ovaries were removed? Or was it a partial that left your cervix intact.
At the very least, you need a urine analysis from a doctor to see if you are in fact, passing a stone or have an infection. In the mean time Drink lots of water.

A hysterectomy has nothing to do with the urinary tract which is what you seem to be describing. You most like have a lower UTI (urinary tract infection). They are often caused by bacteria that is directly introduced into it via the urethra (the pee canal). You'd be best advised to go to a seasoned medical professional and get it checked out. With the bleeding you've described Id go sooner than later because that is indicator of an advanced stage in the lower UTI, if that in fact, is what ails you.

Passing painful urine is common. This is the bladder getting back to normal. The blood you are seeing may be the Orange Anti-Bacterial Cleanser they use in Surgery.( I seen this myself) You may see plenty of this for at least a week. I would call my nurse after a week of seeing this blood. You may have night sweats too for about 1 month, but they will go away.
Best Wishes

You may have a UTI, bladder infection or kidney stones. If you had a hysterctomy, you should not be experiencing vaginal bleeding. You need to see a doctor for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

Sounds like a severe case of cystitis, and nothing to do with your hysterectomy. Urgent appointment with gp for anti biotic should do the trick. Hope you soon feel better.
