Ban gay marriage? How does one ban something that never was? Is this another rewrite of history to say we are NOW banning gay marriage?
How do we ban adultery? That would be like trying to ban homosexual behavior, you can't

I am not trying to ban gay marriage but a better argument if you're looking for a parallel to gay marriage might be an argument involving banning poligamy.
Pre-marital sex happens and is glorified on TV. Adultery happens and is either glorified or villified depending on what is happening. But no one is marching on the Capitol buildings asking for the right to be legally recognized as getting their freak on.

Let's be real here OK marriage is a man & woman thing all ways has been always should be. adultery for sure is immoral
but we don't need a ban on it as the ones who cheat will pay a price to God at some point.

Marriage is a legal status.
Adultery and premarital sex are types of intercourse.
They do not mean the same thing.
If we banned gay sex, then you could argue for a ban on adultery or premarital, but the marriage comparison does not work.
At least, until they allow legal benefits for people who commit adultery...

it actually makes more sense for them to ban adultery--marriage is a social contract. Think about it. If you were to break any other contract-whether it had to do with your house, phone, car, business contracts, financial contracts, etc. how much would u be penalized for breaking that contract? So if marriage is such a sacred thing ordained by God, than why arent there severe reprecutions for breaking it? Im not saying im for the ban, im just saying it makes more sense. The govt shouldnt be interfering in people's private business anyways.

I'm gay and I couldn't agree with you more.. It just seems to me that everyone who is so against gay marriage has no idea what it would be like to want to marry someone they love and to be denied because someone else doesn't believe in it.
Two thumbs down prompts me to expand my answer. The point im trying to make is that when someone makes arguments against gay marriage they very rarley acknowlege the problems with straight marriage.

In the words of Fat Mike:
"Why do you care what I do in my bedroom?
Seems to me you've got nothing better to do"
There are much more important things going on in the world. Honestly, people have been having sex since the beginning of time. If you think it's wrong don't do it and let it go.

Why do you people INSIST on looking at gay marriage as a MORAL issue???
The issue here is HOW DO WE DEFINE MARRAIGE!!!!!!!!!
Who do you exclude from your definition of "marriage"??
Polygimists? Pedefiles? 3 somes? Where is the line drawn!!
It has nothing to do with the Bible, God, or morality!!

Sounds great. But we need to include polygamy because they have rights too. Also, bestiality (if the goat is consenting). Then we should separate children in schools based on gender.
