Im thinking lotion for the girls and chocolate.. and for the guys i have no idea... Do u think lotion and chocolates are a good idea? What type of chocolate would be the best to give them? Would the chocolate and lotion enough for the girls to appreciate? Please give me ur feedbacks and other things that would be perfect for either the guys and the gals... I would really appreciate it! If they are souvenirs, then chocolates and lotion do not qualify. How can you call something as "souvenir" when they can find these same items in the local stores?

Bring them something that is "Canadian". A baseball cap with the name of Toronto's top sports team would be good for the guys, even shirts with a Canadian thing would be good souvenirs.

As for the girls, bring them a shampoo or soap product that is made only in Canada. They would appreciate the fact that they will have something they could not buy in the Philippines, and you gave it to them.

Any item, in fact, that is distinctly from Canada will qualify as "souvenir" Now, use this criteria and then think about the personalities of these friends, and you can be sure the "pasalubong" will be appreciated.

Best Souvenirs From Canada

I'm not sure about chocolates because a lot of people back there are scared of diabetes and they link this disease with sweet foods like chocolates (don't know why). Also, just a reminder, Filipinos are very brand conscious. They have more sophisticated cell phones, shirts, shoes, perfumes, etc. They know all the expensive brands and the latest fashion. Even with money - $50.00 is like nothing to them. I just hope that whoever you're going to give pasalubong to would be gracious enough to remember that the money you bought them with are hard-earned money.

Bring them back something that's uniquely from Canada. Most brands of chocolates and lotions are now available in the Philippines because of globalization... unless they are not capable of buying these.

Canada shirts would be good provided you know their sizes. The last time my brother came to the Phils for a vacation, I asked him to bring me a bottle of real maple syrup. I don't normally find those in the supermarkets here.

Food:
Maple syrup. Pinoys eat pancakes (called "hot cakes") too.

Be carefull with tshirts and other novelty items. If it's made in china or not made in Canada at all, it is a turn off to pinoys.

How about some canadian smoked salmon or any related products.

Sports items:
Hockey jerseys - Hockey's the number one sport in Canada.. Again, avoid made in China as much as possible.

Baseball caps would also be nice.

Another idea: anything with pictures of a Canadian attaction like a painting (lots of cheap ones by local unknown artists) of the Vancouver/Toronto skyline. Or even calendars or posters.

Anything that has a Canadian logo on it will do, if your gonna bring anything like lotions/shampoo/etc take something that has the Canada stamp on it or like just the inexpensive brand like LIFE...Tsaka i don't know if they have Toblerone there or Crunchie, their hella good; wala kme ng ganyan dito sa US kaya when i was there for 1 wk i made sure i bought those especially the white chocolate of Toblerone ang sarap

For all, a good Canadian wine that you can have as the attraction for the get-together that you can organize. Then give each one anything inexpensive but useful, like a pen with some inscription to say it came from Canada.

for the girls, it would be nice if you give them colognes and lotions. like the victoria secret brand. anfd for the guys, i don't think chocolate would make them happy. buy them souvenir shirts that says canada and give them key chains, beer mugs and baseball caps. they will really enjoy those. because those are expensive in the philippines. and some good notebook organizers. really cool stuffs.
