It's called competition and I refuse to join the that contest ever again!!! You'd never believe the trouble we had when we went over to British Gas, I swapped back to the good old fashioned Electricity Board in the end and my bills are definitely cheaper.

Agreed the same wires and pipes are usedby whatever company you use... You are paying for the product they contain, be it gas ,water or electrioity. You don't have much choice over the water supplier. as regards gas and slectric I have changed a few times... Each time a real hassle. Dumped British Gas, terrible (they want to get customer service back from India , they are idiots there) Am now back with Southern Electric for both, To my mind the best there is .

I'm afraid it is a result of the mad thatcher idea of "The Market" which all governments now seem to want to apply to every situation. What we need is an efficient government department that controlled all our energy and supplied it at a fair and sensible rate. The same with water and any other national assets.

Its all a big con, designed to let more of the fat cats get their noses in the trough.
They sold off our nations treasures for pennies and we are required to pay pounds to use them.

It's a nightmare trying to work out which is cheaper.
No matter which one we choose, we are probably getting ripped off anyway.
