I am getting a pap smear, but realized I may get my period that day. I called the office and said they could still do it if it is not heavy, but I am worried it may be. I know I could reschedule, but would rather not since this appointment is important because my last pap was abnormal.
So, just wondering if it is even possibly to postpone.
Thanks-

You could always just reschedule, as there is not way to delay your period.

You could just show up, and if its heavy they will reschedule, and it won't be a long wait since you did show up, so they'd try to fit you in asap.

I'm pretty sure the only natural delay of your period is a large amount of stress. I don't suggest that you get yourself very stressed out, however. Other than that I suppose you could just wear a super absorbency tampon and then right before you have to go in take it out and switch to a pad for only the amount of time needed to get the procedure done with, if you're laying down than your period probably won't be very heavy anyway.

great, I had the same question. I'm uncomfortable with tampons and I'm going to Vegas next week (24-hour swimming!) I was also wondering if there was a way to postpone it! It would just be horrible if I got it there!

No. Mother Nature comes when SHE gets ready whether you're ready or not

Unless you are on the pill, then not really.
