Generally speaking, an accountant probably will make more money than a psychologist. Accounting has a better job market. Psychology doctorates are typically the extent of education people need to have a solid career in psychology, so that means a lot more school.

But the fields are extremely different from one another. To be a little harsh about it, if you're oblivious enough to make money a primary consideration of your career path, go into accounting. Psychology doesn't need more mindless workers. Accounting does.

There are a lot more jobs in accounting than in psychology. Every company has accountants, lots of them. Not many have psychologists.

The average psychologist probaby makes more than the average accountant. However, top accountants in public accounting or CFO's make a lot more than a psychologist.

Psychologists have to go to school for more years.

Accounting functions are now being outsourced but there are a lot of awfully screwed up people right here in the good old USA who need to consult with a psychologist.

I don't know about accounting but do have a B.A. in psychology so can safely say THERE AIN'T NO MONEY IN PSYCHOLOGY!
