I hear that saying and "oh soandso is beyond help" and I think... how awful! What's the criteria for being "beyond help" ??

Maybe not beyond HELP, but there are definitely people beyond REASON. Some folks just won't look at life from another perspective, be it out of stubbornness, hatred, poor upbringing, or lack of proper medication....but they don't WANT to be helped, either...

Some people are beyond help such as Child molesters and rapists. Those people should be eliminated from the gene pool. It has been proven time and again that you cannot fix that type of deviant behavior....

I'd have to say that I agree with both Shizz and racer. Some people are beyond, but I still think that if the person wants the help, then they deserve that chance. =D

ive always been one for the "under dog", thinking "this time theyre really gonna make it" and often they dont. for the most part i dont view those as worthless, they just must have a path i dont/wont understand.
i also have to add since my social interaction has expanded in the time ive been on the internet some are, or seem, to be a lot worse off than i imagined.

Everyone is worth helpong and saving. However until they make the decision that they need help your efforts often are pretty futile. You have to be there when they hit that rock bottom and are willing to get help and be ready to help.
