Use the overnight "super" pad with wings to keep them in place. Before bed, put on a clean pair of underwear that haven't been stretched out from you wearing them during the day. Wear a pair of tighter shorts like bike shorts to keep everything in place - but not too tight. Train yourself to sleep on your stomach only, this helps if you're a heavy sleeper.

I would not recommend wearing a tampon overnight. The max time you should wear one is 8 hours, but since it sounds like you have a heavier flow, the tampon would become supersaturated quickly overnight.

It'd be a pain, but can you set an alarm to wake you up partway through the night so you can change your pad?

What are your exercising habits? People who exercise sleep better and more deeply and won't move around as much.

I hope some of this helps!

It's happened to me before and I'm sure it's happened to just every woman at some time or another (and if it hasn't yet it will). To prevent such things from occuring I use a tampon and multiple pads, if my periods really heavy I wear my panties and over those I wear those boyshorts because they are pretty tight/snug and keep everything from shifting around. Buy the long pads, I"m not sure if those are the ones you get or not but they work good for me, and use two at a time instead of just one. fyi- you can find the boyshorts in the store where all the sock/underwear/and bras are. Hope this helps, good luck

wow, tough question. No, you're definately not the only one. I too have had that problem, and i've only ever had my period 3 times! Sometimes i do both wear a tampon and a pad, although i'm not sure how effective that always is. maybe you want to lay an old towel down under you so blood doesn't get on the sheets. fyi: cold water works really well on blood stains.

that happens to a friend of mine
this may sound odd but just take a tissue and scrunch it up into a ball and put it outside your bum/inside the crack part a little so then it soaks up anything that wants to try and leak out the back, and also wear a overnight pad, they are super absorbant and they are long. id also wear a pair of older underwear incase it does leak out onto them. and if it does AS SOON AS YOU WAKE UP rinse them out with COLD water. it will help prevent stains.

dont wear a tampon if you get more then 8 hours of sleep because if you keep it in for any longer then 8 hours you could have a serious problem (toxic shock syndrom...to learn more read the little book thing in your tampon box)

hope i helped you

It does happen to other people. Try wearing both, as long as you're comfortable with a tampon, but they shouldn't be worn for more than 8 hours. So don't sleep in! There is always a risk of TSS with tampons. You could also try wearing tighter underwear to keep the pad right up against your skin. That could help too.

you may just have a heavy flow. that doesnt really happen to me but on the first night it may sometimes happen. the overnight pad should be staying in place and working.. you should ask your doctor. you could wear a tampon when you go to sleep but you have to be reallyyyy careful and you would HAVE to get up in the middle of the night to change it so you don't get TSS. good luck :)

It happens to me whenever I get my period, but overnight pads always work for me. If I were you, I would try the wierd underwear they sell that you can wear instead of pads, because those wouldn't be able to slip out of place. Otherwise, you can get some padding to put on your bed so you wouldn't have to change the sheets every night.
Good luck!

It has happened to me too. I just make sure to wear snug panties and keep the pad close to my body. I make sure to get the nighttime ones that are really long.

Try getting the ones with wings to keep it in place.

You can try using a super absorbency tampon, just change it before you go to bed and then immediately when you wake up. If you are one that gets up in the middle of the night, change it at that time too.

And wear a pad just in case it leaks (because you are bleeding heavily).

If your flow is very heavy, talk to your doctor, there are ways to make it lighter.

I have the same problem until I started wearing depends when I slept. I would not never wear a tampon because I dont know if I will ever get it back.
