I have taken acting classes and I have an agent, she thought that as well as her it wouldn't hurt if I also looked for auditions. I was wondering if anyone knows of any auditions for commercials or disney channel in New York, Colorado, Illinois, or California

Who is your agent and where is this person located. Go to Sag.org and see if this person is listed there for starters. If not, you may have signed up with someone who is not a legitimate agent. Not all reputable agents are SAG franchised, but many are so that's just one indicator.

Does your agent take more than 10% of any SAG jobs you've booked? If so, that's definitely against the rules.

To be seen by a CD casting a Disney show or by a CD casting a commercial in general your agent needs to submit you. Disney casting takes place mostly in Los Angeles. Of course commercials happen everywhere, I'm just wondering why your agent is telling you to look elsewhere? That's why we're all skeptical.

Like BigR said, show this to your parents and take a good look at any contract you signed with this agent. You also need to investigate whether or not this agent is legitimate so that you can find one that is and pursue this dream with someone who can really help you.

The SAG list is a good starting point. Another list is called Ross Reports (www.rossreports.com). It costs to subscribe but it gives you a lot more info. Not all of the agencies listed on RR are SAG franchised but that doesn't mean they aren't legit.

Please check out the SAG.org wensite. They have a lot of info for new actors. Other sites to look at are:

www.backstage.com
www.actorsaccess.com
www.musicaltheatreaudition.com
www.stageagent.com

good luck!

Most people work in the same states where they live. Unless you have 24 hour access to a private plane. You are given audition information the day before. I believe your agent is not an agent. I think maybe someone took advantage of you. Show this to your parents and ask one of the regulars for advice.
We all hate scammers.

Yeah, so why didn't she tell you where to look? ONly agents get commercial audition notices. There are special publications to get on the coasts, and in CO your agent better do it. So who is this agent? Let's check her out.
