a- did you think it was an evenly matched game,both teams played well.

A. Yes, I thought it was evenly matched, both played well. I was rooting for ITALY so I was naturally heartbroken to see Baggio miss the PK. It made Brasil the enemy / envy of all of Europe. Because they hold the most CUP titles I always root against them now, even when they play teams like Costa Rica.

Yes, I do remember it.
Brazil made more attacks.But the best attack of the game was by Baggio a volley in extra time.
You would nt ve seen anything like that in the recent world cups.
So I d say it was an even game.Italy could have won it had Baggio bn not injured. In another shot Baggio was not as dangerous as he use to be.As for his penalty, it was nt important.The game was over a draw and thus it went to penalties.BUt Baggio's penalty was mistry. Because he never aimed for the top corner, he had taken many penalties before that and not even one of those was aimed at the top corner. Brazil must have found a ghost to lift the ball up.

I really enjoyed USA 94. There so many upsets. The Final was a bit of an anti-climax. Brazil were edgy because they hadn't won the World Cup in 24 years, whilst no one expected Italy to reached the Finals.
It wasn't a great Final in Pasadena, but I think Brazil were just about the best team in the tournament, and they had the luck in the shoot-out.
But Italy did themselves proud, especially Baggio, who had an outstanding tournament.

I wanted them to win in the honor of Ayrton Senna who died on May 1, 1994. The players also dedicated their victory to Senna, so that was doubly touching.
I still have my WC 1994 vanity license plate.

Baggio misses the penalty!!! Oh I do remember!! I say they both played well and Brazil had Romario. I think Brazil was more of the edge holder and deserved to win it.

Yes I remember as if it were yesterday, I cried for days because I felt so bad for Baggio my heart was in pieces.
It was a great match both teams played great!!
