Is it just me? Because to me he isn't cute at all, isn't even a great singer or a good actor on that matter. who agrees with me? I'm sorry but High School Musical is just soooo cheesy!! Not even a good plot at all! Your thoughts? Anyone wanna tell me why every girl seems to like him?

Girl I know EXACTLY what you mean. My little sister is obsessed with him and watches highschool musical like 3 times a week just to see him as she says. I tried to explain to her that he is fake and can't act or sing to well but she just won't hear of it. I think he has nice eyes but he is a little on the feminine side if you ask me. He almost looks gay but isn't because he is dating Vanessa Hudgens that played in highschool musical with him. Also if you look in teen magazines you'll see pictures of him and he seriously tries too hard. He always tries to look hott and theres just a look about him that makes me sick. I heard that he also wears makeup in highschool musical so he doesn't really look that good in real life i'm guessing. In my opinion he doesn't in the video of him and vanessa vacationing in Hawaii. Lastly, Isn't he supposed to be someone for kids to look up too. He's supposed to be a friendly innocent boy that is show in movies, etc on Family Channel for kids. This video shows he's not really an innocent guy for kids to look up too. By the looks of things him and Vanessa are not virgins and not all they are made out to be. Ughhhh it just makes me sick!

I used to think he was ugly but the more I watched him the more cute he got. I mean his eyes are what really draws me in, they're mesmerizing.
But sometimes his hair looks too greasy but other times it's perfect.
He's got a nice body and a cute face.
I agree he can't sing great but it's not like he's gonna go get him self a record deal, and he's gotten way better since the first High School Musical.
Sure HSM is cheesy but it is a Disney Channel movie, remember?
Kids want to hope that these things can really happen but I like the songs and the plot is funny to watch being played out.
If you don't like it than don't watch it, but a lot of people do, including me and I'm 14 going into high school, I know this kinda stuff doesn't happen like finding your true love in a freak incident or having your school break out in song and dance (which I wish would happen) but it's still fun to watch and wish!

I totally agree! God, he`s not hot at all, he only has like good bangs on his head, I swear i thought he was wearing like alot of makeup in HSM2! ewwww! And true to that, HSM2 didn`t really have a plot, the only thing that was good was the songs!
He was soo slow with Gabriella and the whole kiss thing, I mean sheesh!
And honestly I don`t think he`s hot at all! isn`t he like 18 or 20 or somethin`? And yeah he ain`t such a great actor the dude can`t even sing! he`s only good at dancing, maybe!

Persoanlly in Hairspray he was actually pretty good. He is not cute at all but really he can't act well. He also can't excatly sing but I liked him in Hairspray. i hated his Hair but the movie was pretty good. High School Music is horrible. No plot no nothing.

most of the girls who have crushes on him are immature middle-schoolers who dont know any better. just remember when you were young, didnt you have silly crushes that you now regret?
i used to have a crush on nick carter when i was 11 and 12.... what was i thinking!?
but yes, zac efron is not cute or that talented.

I think its because of his eyes... my best friend is really cool and he got blue eyes. He always seems to get girls and I think its because of his blue eyes, which I think is also true with Zac Efron

I TOTALLY get your point. He looks soooooo gay, and I am so sick and tired of his big loooooove with Vanessa. Honestly, could the guy just come out of the closet, please!!! but HSM 1 was good but after all that attention i got tired of it. hsm this hsm that.. gahhh~! this nation's run by young preteen girls! hahaha
IMO, Disney channel stars have it way to easy and are trapped in a bubble. once you are in a movie you can suddenly "sing"? what the?.. and vice versa.. they can't survive in real world

i fully agree with you- he overacts- and is not cuts AT ALL. plus- high school musical is wired and gay- who would ever sing in the middle of a basketball court? (and i only watched it cause i was babysitting my little cousins)
