Compounds are combinations of more than one type of atom.

Dalton could not weigh single atoms. That concept arose out of the thinking of Amadeo Avogadro, Avogadro's number.

Dalton's concept had 4 important postulate: a million. All count is made up of tiny indivisible debris called atoms that may not be able to be created nor destroyed. 2. Atoms of one element won't be able to be converted into atoms of yet another element. In chemical reactions, atoms in simple terms recombine in distinctive places to kind a clean compound. 3. Atoms of one element are comparable in mass and homes and are distinctive from atoms of the different element. 4. Compounds result from the chemical mix of a particular ratio of atoms of distinctive components. at present all of us understand that throughout a million. atoms are divisible (electrons, protons, neutrons, or perhaps basic debris). yet they are the smallest unit to hold the homes of the element. Atoms won't be able to be created nor destroyed that's the regulation of Conservation of Mass. 2. isn't thoroughly authentic simply by fact nuclear reactions bring about distinctive atoms. yet we settle for his postulate with regard to the rearranging of atoms in chemical reactions. 3. isn't authentic simply by fact of isotopes of components yet we do settle for that the dimensions and homes of atoms from one element fluctuate from atoms of different components. 4. is authentic ninety 9% of the time. some compounds could have very ordinary transformations in atom ratios. wish this permits and is not too confusing.
