I said no, and they verbally stated the contract will be null and void. My lawyer advice me to cancel my check, and he told me the contract was null and void. Now, it's been 3 weeks since this happened, and the broker left me a message telling me that the sellers sign the contract. Is this still legal? I'm waiting on my lawyer to call me back.

If your offer has expired or the sellers made a written counter offer, your offer is no longer binding. You are not obligated to this contract.
