"Hello Northern Sky" and "Cartes du Ciel" are two more popular free Planetarium programs.
They will show you in great detail exactly what the sky looks like from your house at any date any time. They are updated every few seconds so that the display you see is essentially "live".
You can print these out as charts to take outside with you which will help a lot with locating things in the sky.
These will show millions of objects besides the planets in their correct locations. You can also zoom in on a particular part of the sky to match what you see in your telescope and they will do lots of other things as well.

I know you want it for free, and it probably is out there. Part of the problem you may be having is that the planets' positions are so variable, those charts would need to be updated often--you can't just put them on the net and leave them up.

But you will not regret spending money on a magazine like Astronomy or Sky and Telescope. They have star charts that are updated for each month, tell you where to find the planets, and point out things to watch for each month, like meteor showers, occultations and eclipses, and interesting pairings of planets with the moon or bright stars. They will also have occasional articles on finding deep sky objects like nebulae. If you just dropped $300 on a telescope, spend $30 on a magazine, you'll get so much more use out of it.

While there are sites that do this, why not get a planetarium program for your computer. These are much faster and more flexible than anything on the internet. I use Starry Night myself, but there are excellent other programs, some of them free, such as Cartes du Ciel:

In addition to the fourmilab link given earlier, this chart is simpler as it gives naked eye objects only.
