I specifically request "no ice" in any of my drinks! I used to work in a bar (my first job)... The things I saw... I'd rather not have any ice, thank you!

That is why, on the rare occasion that I do go to a fast food place, I go to the ones which let me fill my own. But, that does not matter anyway in the long run. The cost of a soda is fractions of a penny either way whether half or three-quarters soda to ice. The major cost is the equipment to mix the syrup with carbonated water not the materials which make the liquid soda itself. The cup and the electricity used to make the ice cost more than the actual liquid which fills the cup. Your petition is pointless. Whether you fill the cup from the tap or full of soda, the cost changes are less than 1%. Actually, because of the cost to make ice, it would actually make more profit to use NO ice. Sodas are the highest profit margin of anything on the menu. Or so I've been told by a friend who used to be a system analyst like me, until we both got laid off, and who now manages a rather popular burger place...

Something I've noticed is that McDonald's never seems to put enough ice!! But other fast food places definitely put in tons of ice

All you have to do is ask them for no ice or a little bit, most fast food places I go to have free refills unless of course you do the drive thru.

Just ask for less ice. It's worth it to me just to see the McLoser roll her eyes and dump the ice out of the cup. Adds a little pleasure to my day and makes my Dr. Pepper taste better.

I always say no ice. Ice annoys me for some reason lol. I hate it .
