I know school is around the corner but tracking your periods are the best way to figure out what will help.
Birth Control will really help, however going straight to birth control especially a brand that is new to the market, before trying any other form of relievment might not be the best answer. Of course this is up to you & your doc.
The way I see it, any new medication is always something you have to research. Maybe try the other brands that have been out in the market for a while. They have longer studies and realiable resources proving those studies. Any new medication or new "illnesses" such as PDD makes me realize how much the pharmaceutical companies are out there to make money. There are some form of birth control pills that can cause future complications especially if you are wanting to be a mother some day. I know you are to young to think of that, but what mothers and daughters along with thier doctors should talk about are the long term effects while taking care of your cramps, nausea and acne probs. now.
Excercising does release certain cramps and bloating and eases the menstrual periods. Heating pads at night along with warm baths can help ease the tension. Of course there is always pro active for acne and over the counter midol or aleve. Tracking and putting a pain scale on your menstrual periods can help when you talk to your doctor. You and your mother should do some research and make an appt.
I will get off my soap box now ; P
have a good school year

I had the same problem and went on Yaz, but Yaz gave me frequent yeast infections. Also because I was so young my gynecologist gave me another birth control pill that made me nauseous, it was way too high of a dose, she thought I was being foolish and wanted to make me feel bad for wanting to go on the pill.
So if your gynecologist makes you feel uncomfortable, find a new one!!!
My new one is nice and treats me with respect, and I am on Ortho lo and no longer have cramps so bad I vomit. Also I don't get pimples anymore

See your doctor! I had those symptom for years before I finally went to the doctor and got birth control. It makes your period SO much better. But you need to see a doctor so that they can prescribe the right pill for you. It may not be yaz or it may be. It's so worth a visit to your doctor to feel so much better. Good luck!

i have never had really bad periods nor have i ever taken a birth control pill. be warned: birth control pills can mess up other bodily functions. a friend of mine was on the pill for many years after she had her third child because it was prescribed by a doctor and now she is having problems with her intestines and they think it is because she took the pill. talk to your doctor. maybe their is a better medicine with fewer side effects that you can take.

Talk to you mom or another adult female in your life. Try scheduling a doctor's appointment, but go in alone so you can be totally honest without pressure from anyone else. Your doctor will know what's best, which may possibly be birth control. If that's the case, immature people your age may tease you about it, but you're better off on the pill.

Yes by all means...why suffer when modern medicine is out there for you.
The pill also helps to prevent again breast and ovarian cancers - many pluses for taking birth control.
You need to talk to your parents about this...I did it as a young girl and it helped me out immensely. Back then it was Othro 777

Many girls your age take birth control pills to help those very symptoms.
But..we can't tell you if you should or shouldn't take them. There are risks involved in taking them.
Please talk to a doctor or go to the health clinic (for privacy) and get more information.

Talk to your doctor about it, but as a preteen I went on the pill because my periods were extremely heavy and painful. Your doctor needs to know about your severe cramps and nausea as you need to be checked for endometriosis.
