I got bare minerals for christmas and I used it once. It makes me look like I have peeling skin or something. I went to Merril Norman's (I dont know how to spell it) a makeup and beauty store and they gave me a pressed powder compact - they matched it to my skin- and told me to wet the sponge and wipe the powder and apply. When you wet it it becomes foundation and makes your skin look flawless- and then it becomes a powder when dry. I have acne scars from when I was a teenager and it covers those suckers right up. It's kinda expensive like 21 bucks but it will last you FOREVER. Im not kidding... like 4 months.

I have freckles too, and I actually like to show them off when I can! So I love to use Almay Touch Pad liquid makeup...it's great for summer because it's very lightweight and sheer, but it does even out my skin tone without leaving a powdery matte finish. I just use that plus a little bit of dusting powder & blush and I end up with a very fresh, dewy glow to my skin. Plus it's not animal tested, and it is only like $7 for a canister, and it will last me usually at least 2 months.

You are lucky to have to have a light complexion as it is what is popular now.
It is Always better to not sunbathe because of how it ages us. There nothing like peaches and cream complexion. What ever foundation you have use only sparingly. You need a light foundation to make it appear flawless. As darker will contrast to other parts of you body and make look painted.
Good luck.

I love MAC everything!! the make-up artists there are generally pretty helpful too! :)
I am using the Rimmel mousse now too and I love it when it goes on, but it seems to not last all day. It is light and airy feeling though. I go back to my original answer though...MAC RULES!! They have different foundations for different skin types and they have a million different eye shadows and brushes and glosses....I WANNA GO NOW! :) lol

I use Jane Iredale, it's mineral make-up like Bare Minerals, but it's in pressed form. So, it's not as messy, I just touch it up during the day or use oil-blotting sheets to help with the shiny part. Good luck. 2D

yes i noe exactly what your talking about! i used bare minerals once and never used it again! my advice to you is to star using foundation from CLINIQUE. it has no chemicals, it doesnt clog your pores, it has SPF15, and the best thing is that ladys working there ask you what type of skin you have and they tell you which is best for you. for example i tend to get an oily nose often, but it begins to dry when i get out of the shower. so basically if you have acne skin, uneven skin tone, or anything else its okay because they have make-up categorized for all skin types which are under TYPE1, TYPE 2, TYPE3, and TYPE4. try it out! its the best ive used. beleive me ive used all kinds... ill name it all bare minerals, iman, chanel, mac, sonia kashuk, and the usual drug store brands; cover girl, revlon, maybeline... beleive me CLINIQUE has been the best!! good luck w/ you new flawless look!! =D

If you apply bare minerals correctly it shouldn't make it look powdery. If you go to www.sephora.com and look under the bare essentials section they have videos to show you how to correctly apply it.
