I resently bought a Macbook 2.0 Ghz for school but everytime I get in to the wireless internet at my house it will work for like 5 to 15 minutes then it goes out. I have a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router and I have to reset it everytime the web goes out. I used my friends Dell and hp and they work fine. So why does the macbook make the internet go out?

Sounds like a hardware issue between the wireless chipset in your Macbook and the Linksys router. Check the Apple and Linksys websites for any firmware updates.

Also the earlier poster who mentioned that sometimes these issues are linked to encryption was correct. In some cases wireless network cards work fine with no encryption, but have issues when security is enabled. Obviously this is a bug which hopefully the manufacturers will eventually iron out, but the workound in the meantime is to make the network unsecured (if that's practical)

Linksys routers (especially older ones) are notorious for having to be reset or power-cycled. Also, do you have any encryption? I've seen Macs in the past that don't want to work with TCP/IP wireless encryption. If you have it, try disabling it.

And if that doesn't work, you need to slap yourself in the face for buying a Mac.

Check the Linksys website and see if there are any firmware updates. That may solve your issue.
