Despite Bush's repeated promises to "get" bin Laden "dead or alive", and to "smoke" bin Laden "out of his hole", Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind two successful attacks on the WTC, an attack on the Pentagon, an attack on a US Navy Destroyer, the USS Cole, and several embassy bombings around the globe, remains free and at large. The latest intel surmises bin Laden to have rejoined his family in Saudi Arabia, apparently free of fear of being extradited to the US by our Saudi 'allies'.

First, it was "Wanted, dead or alive", then it was "I don't really spend that much time worrying about bin laden" (Bush said that).
I think that if it was really important for Mr. bush to find bin laden, he would have found him. If he could find saddam, hiding in a hole, he should be able to find bin laden. There's something fishy going on here.

Well when you have guy in charge that doesn't have the English skills of a high school sophomore then what can you expect. Hell yeah they need the war on terror. Without FEAR then he has no basis to run his Administration and Bin Laden will not be found.

Because it is not the war on terror it is the war for control of the middle east. Bush has even stated that Bin Laden doesn't concern him. He is not a target. When are people going to get with the big picture?

It is my opinion Bush is aware of Bin Laden's where abouts. He allowed the Bin Laden family safe passage. Then said finding Bin Laden is not a priority.

sadly many responders stepped into a very plausible explanation, (doubtful, but plausible). bin laden is more useful alive then he would be as a martyr. in a very real sense he is signing the corporate paychecks the current administration negotiated. and just the mental image of him keeps the republican base hungry for war.

- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02
"I am truly not that concerned about him."

well, my weak minded friend, liberals like yourself who are rooting for the Bin Laden type to strike again have no real way for the president to win. If we go after terrorists, you say we have no friends in the world because GWB is a cowboy and is gun happy. If we don't get bin laden, Bush is giving in to the oil rich people of Saudi Arabia. Your pathetic example of "gotcha" is what gives liberals a bad name. That and the fact you hate America. Good luck in your world of contradiction and elitism and wishing harm on regular Americans

Don't be surprise if bin Laden is caught or killed just before the 2008 election. One never knows what Busie has up his six, ops, sleeve.
