Better start learning!
Well just push down the button to off, then on regular wash, dont mix your colors with your whites, and viola!

A few more tips:

Separate clothes by color:

Whites: Use HOT with chlorine bleach (if you have it) and your regular detergent.

Mixed light colors: Warm with detergent - no bleach (Detergents with "Bleach Alternative" can be used)

Dark colors - Cold with detergent - no bleach

Use Chlorine bleach ONLY on white clothes using HOT water. Be careful to follow instructions when using bleach - too much bleach can actually turn whites yellow.

Make sure you set the water level on the washing machine for a large load if you are washing a large load. When in doubt, use more water rather than less.

put it on a regular cycle. Ususally for power detergent there is a scoop- fill it up to the "1" line. If it's liquid, again, use the cup which is the cap on the bottle. It will have a fill line as well. Do that to "1" as well. Don't forget fabric softener. Use "warm/cold" water or cold cold- that won't matter much. HOpe that helps. Just don't OVERdo the detergent- what a mess that will be!!

Sweet!! Only fill the machine 3/4 full of clothes (towels) -- overloading the washing machine results in poor quality washing AND it's not good for the machine.

Spread the clothes evenly in the tub, otherwise it will be unballanced during spin cycle....no fun pulling out wet heavy things to redistribute.

What a nice thing for you to do.
