I get the same thing!!! I love to wear black!! But it has nothing to do with being sad... not at all.
I like it because it goes with everything, it doesn't show everything, it looks classy, and ... teehee... it's supposed to be slimming.
Perhaps it's a little bit of rebellion, though. Because of the association with mourning clothes in "The Old Country," my mother would never let us wear black and would hardly wear it herself. One of my first acts in college ... with my own money ... was to buy a very elegant BLACK cocktail dress!!! WOW, did I ever feel grown up!!!
My "uniform" in college was a black skirt, a black sweater coat, and all different brightly colored, jewel tone sweaters. It's a combination I still love to this day!!

Black has always been associated with death. Ever notice Dracula, yep black cape. Witches dresses in black, in Scotland a black dog is an evil omen, look at black cats( bad luck if you cross their path). Are you getting the idea about black. I like black clothes, too. I think women are especially sexy when they wear black. And if a guy wears all black...WOW, he is soooooooo fine.
Just tell those people who are bugging you to: Hey...Get a Life, I wear what I like...Get over it!!!!!

Many people in society associate the color black with depression or someone who is depressed. I wear alot of black but I always mix it with a strong color (like black slacks with a red shirt). I think black is a great formal color so I can always bounce a bright color off it. But if you are wearing all black, people are probably going to assume you have depression or issues of some sort.......I don't agree with it but it is the truth....hope this helps

A couple of years ago I had to come up with a quick Halloween costume for work... decided to be a witch. Where can I find a costume fast??
Then I looked in my closet. Oh... no problem... nearly everything in there is black...
But nobody considers me sad - (and I'm too old to be Emo...) on the contrary, I'm quite the joyful one. It's all in how you wear it (or draw it, or display it...)

Here's your lyrics from Johnny Cash for those who don't like black.
Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.
I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.
I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me.
Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black.
[Man In Black lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]
I wear it for the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been,
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.
And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.
Well, there's things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right,
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.
Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black

Nothing is wrong with black. I like black color for clothes, it is so "chic" and stylish. for certain things, black doesn't look good, like using black paint for your house or for furniture, I feel it is gloomy. To have a black car is so classic. And using black doesn't mean you are sad, it is just a taste in color.
Have a wonderful bright happy day! :)

When your friends show up to a party with their little faddish prints and flowery clothes, and you show up in a classic black ensemble, with a pair of strappy black shoes, they will probably shut their cake holes. You will reign! They will be the wall-flowers. Black is a staple for a well thought out wardrobe.
I wore a leopard skin print to my husband's funeral, simply because we both loved it, but a little bonus for me was that it caused mouths to drop. My husband would have appreciated that fact, too!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the colour Black, especially when you paint vibrant colours on it.
