I don't think he is a very good friend. You know that you would never make a disparaging remark about his mom. He should not have said that about yours. Kick that friend to the curb. You deserve better friends than that.

It would depend. Ask him if he meant hi-hats, or a splash/crash? If hi-hats, observant, if splash or crash, or, gasp, China Boy, he was insulting you, and you should demand satisfaction! And if you do declare a duel and "demand satisfaction," make sure you make it clear that you want to fight to the death with antiquated weapons and that you are not in fact "demanding satisfaction."
