I know all animals need down time to rest etc (probably escpecially at night, as these are not nocturnal type fish).. and the bubbler seems to be fairly loud from even across the room. Isn't sound amplified for them underwater as it is? I'm not an expert at all, so any advice is welcomed.

The bubbler promotes gas exchange at the surface and helps to keep the water oxygenated. Let it run 24/7.

Leave the bubbler running at all times (as well as the filter). This provides the fish with adequate oxygen and will not disturb their resting. When fish rest, they can flick their fins to balance themselves in the water.

No, it is fine to leave it running. I have had my aquarium stone running 24/7 for over 2 years and my fish are fine. I have silver shark, plecos, and clown loache.

They'll be fine, but if the bubbler is louder and more forceful than you want, you could get a little adjuster in the line and tone it down some.

Hi, You should leave it running all the time. I helps to remove unwanted gases that can build up in your tank.
