i was watching it on nasa channel and heard the sonic boom on the television from the cockpit of the shuttle but we didn't hear it at home...we waited and waited and nothing.....does anyone know why?....did anyone get to hear it?.....it's pretty neat i've heard it before....and before anyone asks ~ yes, i live in florida

The flight path is that the shuttle flew over central America and Cuba, then enter Florida. Your home might not be near the flight path. So you did not hear at home.

It depends how far you are from the flight path, you say you're in Florida. Is that Miami, Tallahassee, Tampa, Cocoa Beach?

I lived in LA in the 90's and heard it a couple of times when it landed at Edwards. It'll wake you up if you're sleeping.
