We had a "treehouse" that really just consisted of a few boards nailed together that made a kind of platform. It was in the woods in a tree that we dubbed the "chickiejump tree." To be in our club, you had to literally jump out of this tree into the kudzu and weeds below. The treehouse was NOT close to the ground either. If you could not jump out of the tree, then you were too big of a chicken to be in our club, ergo the name "chickiejump tree." There was also a beartrap (yes a real one) on the path leading to that tree. I don't know if it really worked. We were never stupid enough to try it. I was the leader at times. We seemed to rotate a lot, but we all had secret club names. Mine was Panther (I thought I was a bad@ss at age 8 evidently). Our club activities mostly consisted of playing Star Wars or Hot Wheels.

Yes I had a tree house and I was the leader! Those were great days!

yea, we had a "treehouse fort"- it was on a big, thick wall that had a tree growing all over it an we would climb into the middle of it. Fun times! I guess I was the leader by virtue of being the oldest.

we had "the hole" it was a clubhouse we built off of the train tracks. This thing was suped up too, 3 stories, furniture, fire pit, radio and a little battery operated TV, we made a log road running down to it; not bad for a bunch of 12-13 year olds; yes, I was a tom boy lol, greatest times ever though! sort of "stand by me"

i was never invited ;( so i made a fort of my own! only stuffed animals and my sister were allowed in

Nope. neither one...my folks were either too poor or too busy smokin weed to ever get or build me one. =*( sigh.
