I'm on CD 16 I should ovulate within the next 24 hours i got an almost + on my opk yesterday and today I haven't taken one yet, but we BD last night and I used preseed and held my legs up for 30 minutes propped on a pillow.......TMI i'm sorry but i'm really hoping to catch that eggie this month. THANKS

It's true that they CAN live up to 7 days maximum - but it is going to vary from man to man as some men have sperm that will only live for a few hours. If your partner has had a semen analysis done this will tell you an approximation of how long you can expect his "guys" to live. So if you're under 30 and been ttc for at least a year you should definitely seek professional help. Sometimes we need all the help we can get to catch that egg! Good luck!!

heya, i read that sperm usually lives up to 3 days for the most part....it can live up to 5 days...but that's not the rule, even with a good CM....i read you should have sex before the day you think you'll ovulate to make sure once the egg is released there'll be sperm there! hehe TMI as well, anywho, about the pillow thing, read it's a myth....but hey, you can read more about all of these, and also can ask a doctor online for free, try www.FertilityTies.com

Five days is the best case scenario for time. the average is more like three days. It sounds like you've got your timing down, BDing last night was a great idea! Keep it up.
