If he's mean, abusive, distant then it's understandable. But I gotta say that when you hate someone, actively hate, then the only person you're hurting is yourself. The person you hate usually doesn't care, and hate can have serious mental, physical and spiritual consequences. It can make you sick in so many ways. If you hate someone, do yourself a favor and just let it go. I've had to, and I am sooo much happier.

It is not WRONG in so many words.... If you believe the bible it says you are to respect your parents and obey them, but if they were to do something like abuse in any manner, or cause a fight between you than seperation is a result. If you feel hate towards your father tell him, and explain why. Be honest. If you feel this way now it is best to clear the air of unspoken feelings while you still can. It may help him to to see, or at least help bring you some closure. Don't fight him, just say your peace and leave.

It is human nature to hate your father if he was a bad father.
Wrong? Maybe. Also wrong the father didn't do right by the child.

There should be a strong reason for that. If a man is abusive to his wife or children, then a child may get resentful towards a father.
Otherwise, dude, it's wrong to hate father for petty things.

There is a fine line between love and hate.
Do you love him so much and you try so hard to do the right thing to win his approval, but he continually disappoints you? Maybe he has no respect for you and it hurts so bad that you hate him. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer to your question. I do think you need to talk to a counsel. Good luck. Talking and writing about it helps a lot.

No its not wrong to hate your father for his actions and who he is. Deep down inside you may build up all this anger towards him that causes all your problems but in some little way you know you have a little bit of love for him.

Not at all especially since I know the circumstances. I hated my father for a long time also but as I got older the pain lessened and I forgave him.

No, many people hate their dads. Sometimes it's just a phase and sometimes they've got a really good reason to. Either way, it's not wrong to hate your father. It's wrong to hate him without reason. You'll probably get over it as most of us do.
