I had to use monistat-1 thanks to a yeast infection, that was 4 days ago. My hubby and I are trying to get pregnant but now I cant bear to have him enter me, it is really painful as though the opening has shrunk. What do I do? Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I had the same thing happen. I thought I had a yeast infection and used the same medication. A couple of days later I was feeling better and decided to have sex, needless to say it was really painful and hurt to urinate after sex.

I went to the doctor and it durned out to be a bacterial infection that got worse after sex. The friction and heast caused the bacteria to flare and it was starting to affect my kidneys.

So I would recommend you see a doctor ASAP before it gets worse.

If you read the directions carefully, you will see that you aren't supposed to have sex for 7 days after using a yeast infection treatment, even Monistat-1. Even though it's called a 1-day treatment, that doesn't mean you'll be OK in one day. It just means you only have to administer the treatment once. You still have to wait a week, just like any other yeast infection treatment. If you have sex now, not only will it hurt, but you'll likely re-infect yourself.

If you're still experiencing yeast infection symptoms, your vagina might be swollen and tender. Most women do NOT receive full relief from yeast symptoms for at least a week, regardless of the number of days of treatment.
If you continue to have pain after another week, make an appointment with your doctor.

BTW, you should not be having sex during a yeast infection unless you are using a condom; you can pass the yeast to your partner, who in turn will pass it back to you and reinfect you, and the process will start all over again.

Have you tried using a lubricant? Maybe the medicine caused vaginal dryness and that's why penetration is painful...
